Emmanuel Stefanakis, Principal

Emmanuel Stefanakis has more than thirty years of leadership experience in sustainable development. He has advised government, private, nonprofit, academic, and international development sectors on policy, strategy and strategy implementation in 40 countries.

His project experience is focused on the use of market-based tools to improve sustainability performance. His projects range from financial mechanisms, urban revitalization plans, new towns, corporate privatization, public policy and design/construction. As an entrepreneur, he has formed companies that implement sustainable development strategies for profit, including affordable, “green” housing and recycling of industrial by-products for organic food production. He also designed and built the first LEED Platinum homes in Massachusetts in 2007. In the academic sector, Emmanuel served as President of a 100-year old America college focused on sustainable agriculture. He has served as Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and in the MBA Program at the Arthur D. Little Management Education Institute. He has lectured at numerous universities and designed executive education seminars in the US, Europe, and the Middle East.

He sits on several Boards of Directors. He serves as a entrepreneurial mentor to students at MIT through the Venture Mentoring Service (VMS) and sits on the Advisory Board at the Institute for Global Leadership at Tufts University
